Miss Julianna Measures studied Marine Biology at the University of Swansea Wales and graduated with B.Sc.(Hons) 1st Class Honours (2008).
Julianna Measures was awarded the 2008 Ivor Isaac Memorial Prize for outstanding achievement in Microbiology.
Julianna's current appointment is as Assistant Science Co-ordinator for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Marine Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund (MALSF). This £12m fund supports a wide range of projects from Marine Archaeology, Geophysics and Biological Resource Evaluation to data interpretation and dissemination.
Her primary responsibility is to track and audit the progress of projects that have been commissioned by the MALSF's Steering Group. This work varies greatly, from evaluation of project proposals and attendance at MALSF Steering Group meetings. Her main work involves regular contact, site visits and reporting on all scientific aspects of the MALSF programme.
